A #BrilliantRun in My New Mizuno Wave Creation 13s

A few weeks ago I was the lucky and very excited winner of an invititation to the Mizuno Mezamashii Project.  I entered a giveaway at Hit the Road Jane and was one of two very fortunate people selected.

If you haven't heard, Mizuno gave away 1000 pairs of running shoes throughout this campaign.  Such a great way to get their products into the hands and on the feet of so many people who hadn't worn Mizuno shoes before... me included.  They wanted to give runners the opportunity to chase down their brilliant run by trying on some Mizunos whether or not they’ve used them in the past.

When I went to the Mizuno web site to claim my invitation, I was crushed to find out that they were only sending running shoes to U.S. addresses.... I had not realized that when I entered the giveaway and so had to go back to Lynda and tell her I would disqualify myself and that she could pick another winner in my place... but she wasn't ready to let me give up so easily and came up with a solution that she and Mizuno agreed to put into place... and that made me one very happy gal!

I won't go into all the details, but will say that I am most gratetful to Lynda and her family for their kindness and generosity... and that my beautiful new Mizuno Wave Creation 13s arrived a couple of days ago.

Pretty spiffy, no?  And did you notice the trim is my favorite color?

I could hardly wait to get out the door this morning to try them out!  I was a bit nervous as this shoe is so different in shape from any other I have ever worn, but it was selected for me with the help of a Mizuon advisor and so I was eager to see how it would go... but didn't want to push it so we did our regular 5k m around the neighborhood.

My brilliant run took 36.5 minutes... the same as the last time we did this route.  I felt like I was running slower today but apparently not.  Perhaps just the heat playing tricks on me.

I really did notice a difference and so did The Captain.  He told me that I had a definite spring in my gait today and I am pretty sure that is a good thing.

Here is a side view of the shoe... notice how turned up the toes are?

And look at the heel... you can see right through it as it is mostly air!

I will be very interested to see how many miles I can put on these babies!  I love them already.

Thanks again, to Lynda for persevering and getting these awesome shoes to me... and for my Canadian friends, check out Mizuno's Canadian Mezamashii site as they are giving away some shoes there to Canadians.

  1. Love the look of those sneaks and how great to win a pair!! I was thinking of trying out a pair because of all the sneakers, I have yet to try that brand! Do they feel light?

  2. They ARE light... and you are so much faster and smaller and lighter than me, that shoes for you would be even lighter, I am sure. They have a great app on the web site that walks you through several questions to help find the right shoe for each individual... and I had questions that the customer service rep was able to help me through.
