Good to be Home...

We arrived home a short while ago and I want to share some images from our fabulous visit to North Vancouver.  We had such a great time with the family... my BIL is a wonderful cook... mostly Italian fare and delicious!  And I always enjoy learning more about his methods and ingredients.

We got in several hours of shopping at a new IKEA on the way to their house... almost got lost it was so huge!

Bluberry, Pecan and Feta Salad at IKEA

My first ever gluten-free pizza. It was wonderful!

Granville Island Public Market on Saturday morning.

And the view to Granville Street Bridge across False Creek.

My niece's rhubarb and strawberry pie.  She also made a smaller g-f version.  Awesome!

The babbling brook in their back yard.

My fabulous breakfast bowl on Tuesday morning, just before I added a splash of Almond Breeze to it.

Waiting for the ferry in Horshoe Bay to bring us back to the Island.

I am pretty tired!  And we are going to spend the day on our sailboat tomorrow... so an early night tonight and an early morning tomorrow.

Do you get the opportunity to shop at markets where the individual vendors have their own little stalls?

  1. Yummy delicious food for sure and gorgeous pics. No wonder you're exhausted!

  2. It looks like you had a lovely break. When we're away, we always pop into the markets, usually just to marvel at all of the fresh produce. The fish markets are a particular favourite of mine :)

  3. Wow North Vancouver looks beautiful! I must go to Canada sometime, its just too pretty! We really want to move to the Pac NW and have considered vancouver several times!

  4. wow, looks like a great time and fabulous eats! those salads and your breakfast bowl look so good, and I've never had a gf pizza but it looks pretty tasty!

glad you're well and hope you're rested up!

  5. That looks like a great time! So, you liked the GF items? I have tried GF pizza and it was just okay. Maybe the type of crust we used was not as great. What kind of flour was used on that one?

  6. Wow, looks like you had a great time! That Ikea salad looks delish:) I love to go to Pike Place but don't get there very often. There are also a couple of markets near me that I need to go to for fresh veggies etc.

  7. WOW!!! All that food looks yummers!!! What a fun adventure!! Stoked you're diggin' GF options:)

  8. That Farmers Market looks fantastic. So, does the IKEA salad. I'm impressed.

    Welcome home.

  9. This food is look so yummy. I like these pictures very much.
