I am so happy to live across the street from our city’s largest park.. it is a nature reserve, in effect. There are several colorful varieties of ducks, Canada Geese, gulls, crows, squirrels, discarded green turtles, eagles, racoons, peacocks, and herons. The only place inside the park where there are fences is around the Children’s Farm. There is no perimeter fencing whatsoever and so the various paths and bark trails invite you to come in and enjoy.
It is one of my favorite places in the city and in my neighborhood… this is the view out my window across the street to a small lake, and it makes me want to FREEZE the moment, and it encourages me to BE STILL and REFLECT.
What encourages you to take a time out and REFLECT?
So jealous of your view. Living across from a park seems fabulous. I like to sit out on my deck and watch the clouds roll by! That's my reflecting time!
ReplyDeleteHow awesome that you have such a lovely place to sit and reflect! Being outside has the same effect on me.
ReplyDeleteI just posted about this yesterday - about pausing and being still! My little guy making snow angels and doing the same! Cuddling with my newborn. Meditative stretches... those are few things that make me pause and reflect!
ReplyDeleteThat park sounds heavenly. I'm not very good about taking a time out and just being. There's always so much going on, so much that seems like it needs to be done sooner rather than later. Your post is a gentle reminder to make time.
ReplyDeleteSounds like you live in an amazing place! I used to live in Seattle and visited BC... loved it up there. We have some great parks in metro-Atlanta where I live now, but not right across the street - I am jealous.
ReplyDeleteSounds wonderful. I have a picturesque lake in the back of my house and sometimes I just sit and look. Look out across the lake and reflect. It brings such peace.
ReplyDeleteStopping by with comment love from the SITS girls!
YOU ARE SO LUCKY to have such a luxury of living across the street from a beautiful park! I am envious of you. Here in Los Angeles, I am sort of stuck. It's not a very walking-friendly city, which makes me sad because I love to just stretch my legs and go out and walk- to clear my head and to do errands! I miss going to a park and just sitting and thinking about life or just thinking about nothing!! Relish the fact that you have this outlet! :)
ReplyDeleteWhat an awesome view and a beautiful shot. I work nights but when I get the chance to see the sunrise, it never fails to make me stop and reflect. Nature has a way of doing that :) visiting from SITS girls
ReplyDeleteWow... what a view!! Gorgeous! Stopping by from #SITSblogging !
ReplyDeleteI so agree. We look over the Mississippi River. The winter world around this amazing river just breathes, sit, relax, reflect. visiting from SITS girls
ReplyDeleteSuch a beautiful view! Stopping by from SITSblogging. Blessings to you!
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautifully serene view! Our backyard is one giant open plot, with no space to sit, but hopefully that will change this summer, as that's my favorite - sipping a glass of wine on the porch at sunset. Though a warm fire is a good substitute to put me in a reflective mood. Stopping in from SITS!
ReplyDeleteWow! It's beautiful! I would love to live by the water. There is always life surrounding it in the most interesting ways.
ReplyDeleteGorgeous view! My reflection time is first thing in the morning, watching the sunrise.
ReplyDeleteGorgeous! My house is kind of wild--My kids are 1, 3, and 5. But I do find it essential to STOP once a day, read my Bible, pray, and reflect. It's essential to me being able to handle my children!
ReplyDeleteWowwww I would love a view like that! We live next to a lake, which is nice...our across the street view is someone's giant RV, though, ha. :P
ReplyDeleteBeautiful view. Seems calming. Stopping by from The SITS Girls!
ReplyDeleteI love that view! I have t run away to get this or head way from the house.. I can't open a window or a curtain without looking right into another home - I really dislike that.. my lotto win dream is to buy a home where I can open my windows & shades & nobody can see in - that would be perfect!
ReplyDeleteYou have a stunning view!

Amazing view! I'd love that across the street. My quiet time is when I wake up in the morning before the kids get up. If they get up early for some reason, I have a much rougher day with them.
ReplyDeleteStopping by from SITS.
I stop and reflect in the stillness of sunrise. I like to sit with my coffee and watch the sky brighten. Stopping in today from SITS.
ReplyDeleteWow... that view definitely looks very calming and serene... #sitsblogging

ReplyDeleteGreat view. I'd say Weather helps me take time out and reflect. Especially when it's a nice day.
ReplyDeleteThat photo is amazing! It looks mystical and magical. I would love to reflect there...I guess blogging gives me a an outlet to reflect. Stopping by from #SITSBlogging

ReplyDeleteSounds like a wonderful place! I'd love to live so close to pond and be able to observe all the animals come and go. The photo is beautiful, by the way!

I ran a 10K this weekend and the snow on the road side was so gorgeous and sparkling. It occurred to me that I needed to take it in and remember it! I love remembering to take in the sights.
ReplyDeleteThank you for your comment on my post - getting you back! #SITSBlogging! :)
That is a great and beautiful photo and awesome spot to reflect. I am super busy most days I don't get a catch to be still and reflect.. but I try on the weekends to stop and be quiet for a little bit... even that helps:) Stopping by from SITS!

ReplyDeleteAWE!! Gorgeous!! A friends lives by a nature reserve and I love to visit!!
ReplyDeleteSo gorgeous! Looking at the starts at night definitely makes me stop and reflect!
ReplyDeleteWatching my children running around at the park carefree makes me stop and reflect on how quickly life runs past you. Im a stay at home and I still feel like to much of life gets in the way of me spending more time with them.
